Kuwait's Embassy in Qatar Celebrates Kuwait's National Day


(MENAFN- QNA) Kuwait's embassy in Qatar has organized a reception ceremony on the occasion of Kuwait's 54th National Day and 24th Liberation Day anniversary in the presence of a group of senior Qatari officials and diplomats as well as academic, economic and media dignitaries.

HE Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani attended the ceremony along with HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, HE Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani, HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohamed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi, and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and accredited ambassadors to the country.

HE Dr. Al Kuwari expressed his pleasure at celebrating with Kuwaitis a day that all Gulf people enjoy, saying that "Qatar and Kuwait are one country and Kuwait's celebrations are Qatar's celebrations." "We in Qatar fully appreciate Kuwait and the role of HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in bringing the Gulf together and uniting it," Dr. Al Kuwari said, adding that Kuwait was and remains a center for art, culture, literature and thought.

In turn, Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim offered his congratulations to the Emir of Kuwait and the Kuwaiti people, expressing his delight at taking part in the celebrations.

He wished Kuwait more development, prosperity and success and praying to keep it and the Emir of Kuwait safe from all harm.

For his part, Kuwait's Ambassador to Qatar Mutib Saleh Al Mutawtah said the reception ceremony coincide with Kuwait's celebrations as well as its naming by the United Nations as a center for humanitarian action and recognizing the Emir of Kuwait as a leader in humanitarian action.

He added that such national occasions act as a reminder of former Kuwait rulers who were keen on building a peaceful, generous and stable Kuwait and laid the first stones for the next generations to follow and carry on the march of construction and development.

As part of the ceremony, the Kuwaiti embassy held an exhibition for a group of Kuwaiti releases that touch on the country's history and major sites.

The embassy also organized an exhibition featuring photos of the march of the Emir of Kuwait as well as the country's old and modern main attractions. A popular band performed Kuwaiti Ardha dance and some Kuwaiti songs.
