Alicanto Minerals identifies new gold prospects in Guyana

(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors) Alicanto Minerals (ASX:AQI) has identified new prospects at the Eyelash Mineralised Corridor within its Arakaka Project in northwestern Guyana that could contribute to future gold resources.

The additional exploration activity at Eyelash has redefined the control on mineralisation highlighting seven discrete prospects with high grades of rock chips and channel samples.

These indicate the potential of Eyelash to make a significant contribution to future resources as the company works towards its objective of prioritising the best ten targets on the property each with potential to exceed 1 million ounces of gold with additional drilling.

The Eyelash area is situated at the upstream extent of more than 20 kilometres of alluvial workings and the target area is host to significant historical gold production within over 5 kilometres of +100ppb gold anomalism from historical soil sampling programs.

Top core intercepts from re-logging and verification work by Alicanto of historical drilling include:

- 3 metres at 4.31 grams per tonne gold from 44 metres (Poncho Prospect); and
- 2.2 metres at 3.08g/t gold from 86.6 metres (Lampiao Prospect).
