Japan Donates $6 Million in Emergency Aid for Syria

(MENAFN- QNA) Japan will extend $6 million in emergency aid for people displaced by war in Syria, including those seeking refuge in neighboring countries, Japan's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

The measure is part of a recent pledge by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to expand humanitarian assistance to the Middle East in the fight against terrorism in partnership with the international community, Japan's News Agency (Kyodo) reported.

With the aid, Japan will offer blankets, stoves and food to such people in Syria, Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon following a cold snap in January, according to the ministry.
