Qatar- QNB unveils first mobile application


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Banking major QNB and Microsoft Qatar unveiled yesterday the bank's first Mobile application, which will take QNB's customers' experience to a whole new level. The event took place during a media gathering at Microsoft's Mobility Summit.

The Summit discussed how mobility is changing the way individuals and enterprises work and live. Experiencing the blend of personal and professional lives, apps, and tools across different devices was the main theme of the full-day event.

QNB's Mobile application will feature self-service functionality, fund transfers, and access to detailed account balance, with several other services to be rolled out. Microsoft Surface devices will be used to run this modern branch application across select branches in Qatar and then extend it outside of Qatar where QNB is globally located.

Commenting on this, QNB General Manager - IT, Adel Ali Al Malki said: "QNB is pleased to partner with Microsoft to bring new interactivity to our customers. At QNB Group, we are always seeking new solutions to improve our services, and this new platform is the newest step in helping our clients complete their banking transactions and receive the best service seamlessly and without delay." The bank developed the app's interactive customer experience on the Windows 8.1 platform, as it provides a variety of Windows devices' the ability to manage and secure those applications from a centralised IT management tower.

Microsoft Qatar General Manager Naim Yazbeck said, "Microsoft Qatar is proud to partner with QNB to develop such an innovative platform. This partnership is another step forward, reflecting Microsoft's commitment to maximising its customers' productivity through its mobile-first, cloud-first strategy."

The Microsoft Mobility Summit witnessed attendance from over 400 industry professionals and technology enthusiasts. The event saw discussions on subjects like enterprise mobility, Microsoft Surface Pro 3 for commercial customers, apps, Windows enabled devices, and world cup trends.
