Ali Hameed lifts Oman Senior Open title


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Omani golfer Ali Hameed produced a score of 82 to retain the title at the 11th edition of the Oman Senior Open at the Ghala Golf Club on Saturday.

Sachin Bawa scored 83 to settle for the runner-up position and Stephen Monson was third with 85.

Hameed said 'I am thrilled with this triumph but a little surprised. I never imagine that I could win the championship with a score of 82. The competition was really tough with a total of 94 players participating.'

H E Mohammed al Tobi the Minister of Environment & Climate Affairs was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.

Also attending the ceremony were H E Mohammed al Rumhy the Minister of Oil & Gas and the patron of the Oman Golf Committee (OGC) H E Sheikh Rashad al Hinai the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Sports Affairs and Mundhir al Barwani the OGC chairman.
