10 more airstrikes hit ISIL targets in Syria, Iraq


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The US-led coalition continued to strike ISIL targets in Syria and Iraq, with a total of 10 airstrikes between 8am on February 21, and 8am on February 22, local time, the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in a statement released Sunday.

In Syria six airstrikes were carried out near three areas: Al Hasakah, where "two airstrikes struck two ISIL tactical units," Dayr az Zawr, where "an airstrike destroyed an artillery system," and Ain al Arab (Kobane), where "three airstrikes struck two ISIL tactical units, an ISIL counter mobility berm and destroyed two ISIL checkpoints." In Iraq, four airstrikes were carried out near three areas: Kirkuk, where "an airstrike struck an ISIL tactical unit", Mosul, where "two airstrikes struck an ISIL staging area, an ISIL large tactical unit and destroyed nine ISIL vehicles, an ISIL fighting position and an ISIL building," and finally near Tal Afar, where "an airstrike struck an ISIL large tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL vehicle," CJTF-OIR said.
