Bilateral relations between Kuwait and Myanmar have developed since inauguration of the embassy in Myanmar's capital Naypyidaw in 2012, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Myanmar Essa Al-Shemali told KUNA. He asserted Kuwait's keenness on enhancing its relations with Myanmar in various fields and at all levels.

Al-Shemali congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people on the dear occasion. He noted that this year's celebrations of the national festivities follow the UN honoring of His Highness the Amir as a "Humanitarian Leader" and Kuwait as a "Humanitarian Center".

The ceremony was attended by several senior Myanmarese officials, MPs in addition to diplomats in Myanmar and businessmen, the Ambassador said.

Souvenirs were distributed during the ceremony and the guests were entertained with a banquet of traditional Kuwaiti food and display of images of the national heritage.
