(MENAFN) Vale Oman Pelletising Company LLC logged a record production of iron ore pellets, hitting 8.608 million tons in 2014, Oman Daily Observer reported.
The company's record output, from its giant complex at Sohar Port, marked a 4 percent increase over the 8.280 million tons of 2013.
Sohar Port, equipped with USD2 billion worth of investments, features two plants in readiness to produce 4.5 million tons of direct direction pellets annually.
In addition to the annual production record, the firm's production in the fourth quarter also increased, hitting 2.391 million tons against the 2.304 million tons produced in the same quarter of 2013.
