SPE Qatar holds lecture on advanced offshore oilfield tech


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Society of Petroleum Engineers, Qatar Section chaired by Sheikh Faisal bin Fahad al-Thani, recently held a "distinguished lecture" at the Four Seasons Doha. The event was attended by many oil and gas professionals and students. The title of the presentation was "Advanced technique in designing an inflow control device completion for the development of a giant offshore oilfield in the UAE",

presented by Sofiane Bachar, senior reservoir simulation engineer with Qatar Petroleum International. The topic looked at how an
advanced technical design of downhole equipment could improve production from oil wells. This technology had been implemented for oil well development in a giant offshore field in the UAE to maximise asset value and oil recovery. In Qatar, SPE has more than 400 professional members and 250 student members at Qatar University and Texas A&M University, Qatar.
