(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has supported the "2nd Entrepreneurship in Economic Development Forum" by sponsoring the event, which is scheduled on March 2 and 3 at the Sheraton Doha Resort and Convention Hotel.
QDB chief executive Abdulaziz bin Nasser al-Khalifa said, "Supporting SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) and entrepreneurs, the backbone of economic development, is in QDB's DNA. Our participation in the forum is a reflection of our commitment to that role and the difference we hope to make for Qatar's economy.
"We aim to develop a diverse and vibrant private sector in the State of Qatar and we take pride in supporting and participating in events like this one, which provide a critical opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs to learn, network and become business leaders of the future."
Led by Qatar University College of Business and Economics (QU-CBE), in collaboration with Qatar Ministry of Economy and Commerce and the Interactive Business Network (IBN), the forum carries the theme "Fostering the New Generation of Entrepreneurs in Qatar and the Gulf."
According to al-Khalifa, QDB helps develop local industries by supporting SMEs in Qatar.
"QDB aims to promote and facilitate the development and growth of small and medium enterprises in core economic realms, which would then result in long-term socio-economic benefits to the people of Qatar," he said.
