Omani film Al Hara being shot in India

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Parts of the fifth Omani film Al Hara (The Alley) are being shot in the southern Indian state of Kerala.

It is the first film from the sultanate to be shot in two countries.

Directed by Dr Khalid al Zadjali the 104-minute feature film revolves around the life of two brothers who go to India. The elder one falls in love with an Indian girl and marries her. But the brothers come back to Oman and the elder one dies. It's a gripping plot Zadjali said before leaving for India for filming.

'The movie covers various aspects of human relationships. This is the first Omani feature film that is being shot abroad. Though I have shot documentaries in Turkey and Kuwait India is an ideal destination for shooting a feature film and it has a lot of cultural similarities with Oman. At the same time the natural background locations architecture and colour will be different from Oman and it will be visually mesmerising for the audience' added Zadjali.

Sudha Sha the film's production head and screenplay writer said 'There is a six-member team from India comprising cameramen editors lightmen and sound engineers.' The actors and crew members are from the Oman Film Society.
