French Accor net profit surges 77 percent in 2014


(MENAFN) Europe's leading hotel group, Accor of France, posted a 2014 net profit of USD253 million, a 77 percent surge that nevertheless fell short of market expectations, AFP reported.

It also showed a record USD469.95 million operating profit, 15.6 percent up on 2013, while sales edged up a modest 0.5 percent to USD4.25 billion, the group said in a statement.

"2014 was a rich year. This performance must be placed in the context of the deep changes the group has undertaken, and the numerous operations it has carried out in recent months," said CEO.
