Cabinet discusses preparations for blizzard


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The Cabinet on Wednesday discussed various procedures and preparations that must be undertaken across the board to deal with the expected snow storm with the Meteorological Department forecasting an intense impact on the Kingdom Thursday afternoon.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour directed all ministries and official departments, institutions and public bodies to prepare to deal with the weather conditions, both in terms of human cadres' preparedness or putting in place mechanisms and ensuring coordination among all stakeholders.

He also called upon citizens to stock staple goods in adequate quantity to serve their needs and avoid unnecessary congestion or having to rush out "for emergencies." He also advised them to avoid being outdoors during the snow.

Ensour urged citizens to be patient if any electricity outages take place due to strong winds that are expected, stressing the need for all concerned parties to deal with these weather conditions in an expeditious manner.
