UAE unveils 2023 plan for project over Mars


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The United Arab Emirates has unveiled plans for projects outside Earth with its eyes on the deserts of Mars. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy PM and Minister of Presidential Affairs, said during the 2015 Government Summit in Dubai last Tuesday that the kingdom's next project would be implemented in the deserts of Mars in 2023.

"How are we going to get from the deserts of the UAE to the deserts on Mars? God willing we will reach there in 2021," he was quoted as saying by Emirates 247 News website.

The prince noted that 2015 would by his country's "year of innovation", adding that the "UAE is investing in the happiness of its citizens, residents, expats.

We are investing in infrastructure and innovation to make people happier." Al Nahyan did not, however, elaborate on the kind of project the kingdom is targeting for the red planet.
