Qatar International Endurocross returns


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The penultimate round for the Qatar International Endurocross, organised by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), will start this Friday at the Sealine area.

A large number of entries are expected for this third round after the big success in the previous round, which had more than 50 entries.

In the E1 category, the leader and double winner in the last round, Kuwait's Meshari Abou Shaibah, will try to register his third victory of the season and extend his lead over compatriot Moath Al Ansari, who came in second in the previous rounds.

Abou Shhaibah is leading the championship with 100 points and Al Ansari is second with 88 points.

In the previous round, British rider Jake Preston won both races and is leading the E2 category with 95 points and Mohammed Jaffar is second in the standings with 87 points. The Kuwaiti rider finished second in the previous round and hopes to take the victory in this round and reduce the gap with Preston. The third rider in the standings is the Emirati rider Mohammed Al Balooshi.

In the Quads category, Kuwaiti rider Fahad Al Musallam is leading with 89 points and Mohammed Al Kulaifi, also from Kuwait, is second with 82 points.

Tomorrow, action will start at 10.30am with free practice and the first race for bikes will be at 12.45pm. For quads, the first race will be at 1.40pm.

The second races are scheduled at 2.35pm and 3.30pm.
