Many reported dead in latest Aleppo fighting

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Two days of fierce fighting, as Syrian government forces seek to encircle rebels in the key northern city of Aleppo (Halab), have left almost 150 people dead, a watchdog said Wednesday.
The fighting came as UN Syria envoy Staffan De Mistura announced that Damascus was willing to suspend its aerial bombardment of Aleppo city for a period of six weeks.
Rebels launched a counter-attack overnight into Wednesday, recapturing two villages and advancing towards the north of the city, Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told dpa.
