GCC Secretary General meets with Gulf journalists


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashed Al-Zayani, the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, met at his office in the Saudi capital of Riyadh today with a delegation of the Arab Gulf journalists federation, led by Turki bin Abdullah Al-Sudairi, the organization's chairman.
The meeting was attended by a number of Al-Zayani's assistants and senior aides.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Al-Zayani lauded the role of Arab Gulf journalists in bringing about concerted public opinion in the region and quoted the GCC supreme leaders as instructing the GCC secretariat General to continue in touch with the press and inform the public of every detail about the developments in the region.
He expressed readiness to continue cooperation with journalists, lauding the role being played by the federation to illuminate people about what is going on at all levels.
For his part, the delegation underscored the importance of making better the current situation of the Gulf media to enable it provide whatever protects the GCC societies and enhance their ability to face different challenges through objective and constructive media mission.
In this regard, they welcomed the GCC overture to open a new page of cooperation with the media and its readiness to enhance its efforts to achieve its noble goals and play a positive role in the service of GCC societies.
