Millennium Resort Mussanah plays host to Tour of Oman

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Millennium Resort Mussanah is hosting this year's Tour of Oman cycling event and is welcoming 355 participants including 144 cyclists media members and organisers from 25 different countries as they take on six stages of beautiful yet formidable trails across the sultanate.

Hailed as one of the largest events on the international cycling calendar the race is being held from February 17 to 22 as part of the Muscat Festival activities.

Over the course of six days participants will complete a series of six stages each from an identified starting location across the Tour of Oman route. On the third day cyclists are scheduled to start the stage from Millennium's car park and head towards Muscat before returning to the resort after crossing a total distance of 158.5km.

Built on the site of the second Asian Beach Games and the Muscat Triathlon Club competition Millennium Resort Mussanah features a health and fitness centre equipped with the latest TechnoGym equipment in addition to an outdoor track that includes a 200m jogging area and outdoor training units designed to improve strength and flexibility.

The resort also boasts three beach football fields a volleyball court and an 18-hole mini golf course. Balancing its wellness amenities with a plethora of culinary options to suit individual dietary requirements the resort's restaurants and lounges offer a diverse selection of delicacies.
