Orange's earnings drop 50 percent in 2014

(MENAFN) France's telecoms giant Orange posted a nearly 50 percent drop in earnings in 2014 to USD1.38 billion from 2013 in a crowded market, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

Financial director said the group invested USD6.37 billion in 2014, or 14.3 percent of its turnover, compared with 13.7 percent in 2013. For the full year, revenues were USD44.82 billion, down 2.5 percent.

"The decrease in net income was principally due to the impact of specific items unrelated to operating performance," the France's telecoms giant said in a statement.
