Senate president receives EU delegation


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Senate President, Abdel Raou'f Rawabdeh, on Tuesday, received a delegation from the European Union (EU) Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee headed by MP Elmar Brok, currently visiting the Kingdom.

Rawabdeh said Jordan is keen on promoting strategic ties with the EU, expressing the Kingdom's appreciation for the support extended by the EU to the Kingdom's reform programs.

Rawabdeh highlighted the implications of the Syrian refugees crisis on Jordan's economy and local communities, urging the EU to extend aid for the Kingdom to deal with this burden.

The meeting tackled a host of issues including the fight against terrorism and exerted efforts to bring about peace and security to the region, in addition to EU's aid for Jordan.

The delegation praised the endeavors implemented by Jordan that have made the Kingdom a role model in the region when it comes to reform process.
