Lower House starts debating draft budget on Sunday


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The Lower House of Parliament will begin deliberating the draft 2015 state budget and the independent government units' budgets draft laws next Sunday.

The decision was taken during a session chaired by House Speaker Atef Tarawneh and attended by Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and Cabinet members.

During the session, the deputies listened to a report by the Financial Committee on the two draft laws that was read by Rapporteur of the committee, MP Fatima Abu Abta.

According to the 2015 state budget, public revenues are estimated at JD7.40 billion including JD6.40 billion as domestic revenues and JD1.12 billion as foreign grants.

Public expenditure in the budget is estimated at JD8.09 billion, including JD1.74 billion as capital expenditure and JD6.92 billion as current expenditure.

Budget deficit was also estimated at JD688 million.

Regarding the independent government units' budget, public revenues are estimated at JD813 million and expenditures at JD1.12 billion, including JD1.1 billion as current expenditure and JD707 million as capital expenditure.
