17 February 2015: BMW has redefined the electric vehicle (EV) sector with the innovative i3. This is BMW's first ever production EV and takes electric cars to a new level of prestige badge desirability.
The EV has been with us for some time now but has stubbornly refused to grow into a mainstream offering. There are sound technical reasons for this including the time taken to recharge such vehicles and the limited range they offer. Another reason however is that EVs have simply not been desirable enough to attract a certain kind of motorist.
