Kuwait strongly condemns Copenhagen, North Carolina shooting

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait strongly condemns the two tragic shootings that took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, and North Carolina, the U.S., which led to the death of innocent people.

A Foreign Ministry source said Monday that Kuwait calls for respecting all religions and religious symbols and stopping any provocations against Muslims.

Kuwait cautioned against the increase of these criminal acts which will only lead to more violence, hence, lack of security and stability, the source added.

It reiterated Kuwait's stance that rejects violence and terrorism and calls for unifying international efforts to put an end to this vicious phenomenon.

On Saturday in Denmark, a gunman opened fire at a cultural center hosting a seminar on free speech with an artist who had caricatured the Prophet Muhammad, and then later at security forces outside a synagogue.

Yesterday, the police announced that the suspect was killed in a gunbattle with a SWAT team.

In the American State of North Carolina, a gunman shot and killed three Muslim students at housing complex near University of North Carolina campus.
