PM Nawaz visits Corps Headquarters in Karachi


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after arriving in Karachi on Monday, visited the Corps Headquarters to meet Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif.

During the meeting, Lieutenant General Naveed Mukthar, Corps Commander Karachi, briefed the PM regarding the situation in the city.

The PM was also briefed in detail regarding the intelligence operations in the city in connection with Operation Zarb-e-Azab as well as progress of implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP).

Later today, the PM will chair the provincial Apex Committee meeting at the Governor House.

The meeting will review the implementation of NAP as well as the PM will be briefed on the progress of the implementation of the provincial NAP.

The PM will also be briefed on the progress and performance of the provincial committees.

The meeting will also be attended by IG Sindh, DG Rangers, security agencies officials and members of the provincial cabinet.

According to sources, PM Nawaz will be briefed in detail regarding the Baldia Town factory blaze Joint Interrogation Report (JIT) to take necessary course of action.

Earlier today, the COAS also arrived in Karachi and visited the Rangers Headquarters where he was briefed by DG Rangers on the law and order situation as well as the operation being carried out.
