(MENAFN) Trainees' numbers at Abu Dhabi Ports' Maritime Training Centre witnessed a 15 percent increase in 2014 compared to 2013, Khaleej Time reported.
The training program underwent a modification in which five new courses were added. Among these courses are a channel familiarization course, and a vessel traffic services (VTS) course.
Others are port facility security officer course, a high speed craft operator's course, as well as a course on human element, leadership and management.
"We will continue to expand our training programmes and collaborate with training partners to develop qualified maritime professionals," vice president of environment and security in Abu Dhabi Ports said in a statement.
