Turkish, Qatari leaders discuss regional issues


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed by phone on Sunday a number of bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.

During the conversation, initiated by Erdogan, the two leaders reviewed cooperation between the two countries and ways to bolster them, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).

Mutual visits between the two leaders have been common in previous months, as Sheikh Tamim's last visit to Turkey was in December, 2014, while President Erdogan's last visit to Qatar was in September, 2014.

During Erdogan's last visit to Doha, he had agreed with the Qatari Amir to form a supreme council for strategic cooperation in order to enhance relations between the two countries and follow various bilateral subjects of all areas.
