(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation,OIC, is participating in the Preparatory workshop for Regional Consultation of the Middle East and North Africa, which begins tomorrow in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
The workshop is being organised in collaboration with the United Nations and the Arab League.
Ambassador Hisham Yousef, Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs will represent OIC in the workshop, which is meant to discuss preparations for the World Humanitarian Summit, WHS, to be held in Turkey in May 2016. It would also discuss several other issues, notably: protection of civilians, humanitarian access, addressing vulnerability through emergency preparedness, disaster risk reduction and building resilience, responding to protracted crises and humanitarian financing. Also to be discussed is coordination and partnership in humanitarian action. This meeting is part of a series of meetings to be held in preparation for the World Humanitarian Summit.
