Egypt condemns terrorist attacks in Copenhagen

(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Egypt today condemned the two terrorist incidents, the first of which targeted a building that was hosting a meeting about Islam and freedom of speech, and another on a Jewish Synagogue, in the Danish capital Copenhagen.

In a statement, an Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Badr Abdel Ati, reiterated his country's consistent and principled position on paying the utmost respect to religious symbols, in line with the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), saying that nothing justifies the use of violence toward others.

Danish police announced last night that one person was killed, and two police officers were injured in the shootings.
