Iran arrests terrorist cell

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) A terrorist cell was dismantled and arrested southeast of Iran, including the confiscation of large amount of explosives, Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alawi said on Saturday.

Iran news agency (Irna) quoted the minister as saying that security forces were able, through complicated operations and in cooperation with locals, to find the terrorist cell this week, noting that the operation succeeded in identifying and arresting part of a terrorist group intended to make sabotage in the country.

The minister noted that the group had planned road landmines possessing large quantity of weapons, ammunitions, handmade bombs and explosive belts.

Last year, five Iranian border guards were kidnapped by the same terrorist group, known as "Al-Adl Army" in Sistan and Baluchistan province.
