Information Min. opens illuminated city within Kuwait's nat'l celebrations
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Information Minister and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah opened Saturday evening the "illuminated city," set up by Kuwait voluntary 'Badder' campaign to mark Kuwait's national days.
Sheikh Salman, representing His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, said the opening of "illuminated city" was in harmony with Kuwait's celebrations of national days and the UN honoring of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as "Humanitarian Leader" and Kuwait as "Humanitarian Ceter." Kuwait is also celebrating many occasions: the 9th anniversary of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince in office, Kuwait's 54th National Day and the 24th Liberation Day, noted the minister.
His Highness the Prime Minister's patronage of the illuminated city, held in Mishref Area, reflected his keenness on importance of contributions of youths towards the development of Kuwait, said Sheikh Salman.
The minister said the standing committee for national celebrations contributed
to luring Gulf tourists to Kuwait, as well as launching "Humanitarian Leader" slogan on this year's celebrations.
Sheikh Salman said the contruction of the illuminated city mirrored creativity and skills of Kuwaiti youth.
Mubarak Al-Najadah, head of Badder campaign, said Badder was a national campaign believing that future would be made by current generation and that challenges could be addressed by constructive initiatives.
Badder is about fostering the social fabric in Kuwait through the encouragement of projects, he noted.
The illuminated city, said Al-Najadah, was another expression of content over the UN honoring of His Highnes the Amir.
