Qatar- Arab Police Day marked


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Under the auspices of Staff Maj. Gen. Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi, Director-General, Public Security, the Ministry of Interior yesterday marked Arab Police Day at Ritz-Carlton Doha.

The directors of departments at the ministry, veteran police officers, personnel, toppers from Police College and institutions and dignitaries from national agencies were present.

Staff Maj. Gen. Al Khulaifi said the ministry has been observing the day since it began in 1972 and has made remarkable achievements through social partnership and strategic actions, providing safety and security services with the most advanced technologies and systems.

He said the ministry's security successes and excellent services are part of community partnership in light of its strategy and five-year plan. He called for further cooperation and strengthening community partnerships and networking with security agencies to achieve more security and safety. He honoured the veterans from police and reserve forces, dignitaries, establishments, officials and toppers who graduated from Police College and other institutes.

Brig. Saeed bin Hassan Al Mazroui, who was among the honoured, said the honouring ceremony in recognition of services provided by personnel, shows the ministry's keenness to communicate with society and inspire the new generation to serve the nation and people in the best possible way.

The day commemorates the first meeting of Arab police and security leaders in Al Ain City in the UAE in 1972.
