Qatar- Tributes paid to firefighter Al Ghobachi


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The General Directorate of Civil Defence organised a meeting to condole with friends and relatives of its deceased firefighter, Tariq Al Ghobachi, and community members.

The Moroccan died after attempting to fight a warehouse blaze near the Industrial Area Street No. 35 on February 7. He left a striking example of patience, dedication and sincerity until he died at the scene.

The directors of departments of the Ministry of Interior and officers were present.

Brig. Hamad Al Dohaimi, Director, Operations Department, Civil Defence, said Al Ghobachi was dedicated, honest and sincere in his duty and inspired his colleagues to work hard, encouraged them to be patient and always focused on others' safety. He said it was a shocking news to hear the death of a rescuer on duty.

Colleagues and friends recalled that Al Ghobachi was brave and committed to his profession with heroic attitudes that showed his courage to tackle the toughest moments and said he risked his life to save colleagues during such incidents.
