INDONESIAN INFRASTRUCTURE Govt Urges JICA To Prioritize Maritime Project

JAKARTA February 12 2015 – Government urged Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to prioritize projects that could improve inter-islands connectivity in Indonesia.

President of JICA Akihiko Tanaka said the assistance and cooperation from his company with the government of Indonesia would be tailored with the national medium term development plan (RPJMN). It was in line with the government’s wish to improve inter-islands connectivity in Indonesia.


"We made a commitment that the assistance and cooperation to be provided by JICA to the Government of Indonesia will be in line with RPJMN which have been proposed" he said at the Presidential Palace complex Thursday (2/12/2015).

Tanaka said that his meeting with President Joko Widodo this didn’t specifically discuss project investment commitment that will be worked on together.

According to him JICA is interested in projects to tackle congestion in Jakarta such as mass rapid transit (MRT) development which is currently carried out jointly by a Jakarta regional-owned enterprise.

He would also discuss and study in detail the JICA project worked with the Government of Indonesia in stages. Read more
