Iran to increase electricity exports to Pakistan by 3,000MW

(MENAFN) Since the price of Iran's electricity exports to Pakistan is one-third of its production cost in the neighboring countries, Iran is set to increase electricity exports to Pakistan hitting 3,000 megawatts, Iran Daily reported.

Iran sent a letter to Pakistan's National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) offering an export of 1,000MW power to Pakistan and also investigating the opportunity of supplying approximately 3,000MW more power.

The letter pledges to increase Jakigur in southeastern Iran substation from 80MVA to 125MVA for creating capacity for additional supplies to Pakistan and extend validity of the current electricity.
