Mohammed bin Rashid directs preparation for Government Summit 2016


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has directed the Government Summit to begin working with various world governments and international organisations to help develop innovative solutions for common service-related challenges facing governments.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed has also directed the start of preparations for the summit's fourth session, which will be held between February 8th-10th, 2016, and for it to include a broader and larger vision, creating a specialised global event for the development of innovative solutions in government services that keeps up with the rapid scientific developments.

This year, the Government Summit has achieved great success with the participation of 93 governments, international organisations, 4,000 participants and 100 speakers. The summit also featured the distribution of awards to local, regional and global smart and innovative government services.

The Ruler of Dubai said that the summit's significance will be proven in the coming years, when quality government services are being provided globally, in collaboration with international partners like the United Nations, the World Bank and the World Economic Forum.

Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, and Chairman of the Summit Organising Committee, said that next year's summit will include two exhibitions and international awards. The first, titled, "Museum of the future", will showcase government services on a global level, and the second will exhibit the latest innovations, in addition to three international awards.
