(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Court of First Instance has charged a Pakistani taxi driver with molesting a 15-year-old boy while dropping him home in his taxi.
The 34-year-old is believed to have taken advantage of the fact that the Jordanian schoolboy was alone with him to allegedly touch him inappropriately.
The driver reportedly admitted during the investigation that he touched the boy against his will several times.
The boy told the prosecutor that he ordered the cab over the phone and was returning home from his friend's place. "He started to touch my hand and leg and asked me whether I like Pakistanis. He took a longer route."
A 43-year-old Jordanian housewife, who is a friend of the boy's parents, said that the boy confided in her during a visit to their house, that a taxi driver touched his hand and hip awkwardly.
A policeman said that the complaint was filed on October 27 last year. He said the driver admitted to the charge at Al Barsha Police Station, and said he had made a mistake. A verdict is expected on March 11.
