S. Korea unemployment rate up in January

(MENAFN) Due to the increase in graduates and early retired people in search for jobs, South Korea's unemployment rate rose in January, the Peninsula Qatar reported.

In January, jobless rate stood at 3.8 percent up from 3.4 percent in December and 3.5 percent a year ago.

'The jobless rate went up as more people, including graduate students and those in their 50s, looked for jobs,' Statistics Korea said.
