China's auto output, sales grow in January


(MENAFN) the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said China's auto production and sales continued to show growth in January, driven mainly by passenger cars, Xinhua reported.

There were a total of 2.29 million cars made and 2.32 million cars sold last month, a year-on-year increase of 11.5 percent and 7.6 percent, respectively, the CAAM data showed.

The data showed that passenger cars showed strong growth during the month, with an output of 1.97 million and sales of 2.04 million, up 15.1 percent and 10.4 percent, respectively.

Sales of passenger cars of domestic brands amounted to 867,800 units in January, increasing 21.45 percent on-year and accounting for 42.6 percent of all passenger cars sold during the month.
