Jordanian, Bahraini monarchs hold bilateral talks

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) King Abdullah II of Jordan discussed bilateral relations and means to develop them on all levels with visiting Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.

Latest regional developments, especially efforts to combat terrorism and extremism were among the key issues discussed by the two leaders, according to a statement by the Royal Jordanian Diwan.

The fight against terrorism and extremism is to safeguard Islam and its tolerant and moderate teachings against "cowardly" acts by ISIL terrorist group, noted the statement.

Coordinating efforts between the Bahraini and Jordanian Air Forces were also mulled over in this regard.

During the meeting, King Hamad underlined Bahrain's solidarity with Jordan in the aftermath of the tragic killing of Jordanian pilot Moath Al-Kasasbah by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

"Jordanians have always been known for their steadfastness in facing crises for the sake of their country's stability," King Hamad noted.

On his part, King Abdullah said "Historically, whenever Jordan faced a difficult situation, Bahrain was there on (our) side." King Hamad concluded his visit to the Hashemite Kingdom after the talks.
