King, Bahraini monarch discuss ties, regional developments


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) His Majesty King Abdullah II discussed on Monday with Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifah the bilateral ties and ways to further boost them in various fields.

The two leaders expressed their pride in the advanced relations between the two countries.

During a one-on-one meeting , followed by an expanded meeting attended by top officials from both sides, the two leaders reviewed the latest developments in the region as well as efforts to fight terrorism and extremism to preserve the stability and security of the region and its peoples.

The meeting also tackled means to promote Jordanian- Bahraini military ties, mainly in the air force sphere.

The Bahraini monarch offered condolences to His Majesty over the death of pilot Muath Kasasbeh, adding that the pilot died while defending his, country, nation and religion.

The two leaders also discussed the situation in Syria and Iraq, the challenges facing a number of Arab countries, as well as the need to boost coordination among Arab countries.

King Abdullah held an official lunch banquet in honor of the Bahraini monarch and the accompanying delegation that was attended by senior officials from both countries.

Upon departure, the Bahraini leader was seen off by His Majesty and a number of civic and military officials.
