(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Sixty one target killers have been arrested in Karachi, Sindh Law Minister Sikander Mandhro told the provincial assembly on Monday.
During the session Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) MPA Muhammad Hussain spoke on the call attention notice pertaining to target killing in Karachi. He said Golimar, Gulbahar, Rizvia and Nazimabad areas of the city were the most affected by target killing.
"There is target killing on a daily basis here but unfortunately no target killers are being caught from these areas," Muhammad Hussain said.
In response to Hussain, Sindh Law Minister Mandhro provided statistics pertaining to target killing. He said 10 target killers had been arrested from Orangi Town, 20 for Qasba Colony and 31 from Nazmiabad. The minister added that he did not have statistics which showed what areas were the most targeted.
The MQM lawmaker called on the provincial law minister to provide proper statistics during the next session.
