Works by 60 Qatari artists on display


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) A diverse array of works by 60 Qatari artists is featured at the Qatari Fine Arts Exhibition which opened on Sunday at Katara Building 13.

The works, produced by artists from different generations and schools of art, range from paintings to sculptures to ceramics providing a rich panorama which documents the development of arts in the country. The exhibition is organised by Qatar Fine Arts Association and runs until the end of the month.

Among the artists whose works are represented in the expo are Moody Al Hajri, Badria Mohammed Al Shraim, Hassa Al Muftah, Hamda Al Thani, Ameera Al Ajji, Dana Al Marri, Hassan Al Mullah, Talal Al Qassimi, Abdulzaziz Al Haj, Issa Al Mullah, Mohammed Al Jidah, Yousud Al Sada, Khalifa Al Obaidly and Ahmad Al Musaifiri.

Katara General Manager Dr Khalid Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, along with Bahraini Ambassador Wahid Mubarak Sayar, inaugurated the expo in the presence of diplomatic representatives, artists and media.

Qatari Fine Arts Exhibition is one of the most important galleries held annually in the Cultural Village, which attracts Qatari artists. In addition to professional artists, the gallery comprises novice artists who are seeking to display their creative talents and communicate with other artists in bid to exchange expertise, said Dr Al Sulaiti.

Twenty of the participating artists are young male and female artists who are creating a mark in the country's art scene with their distinct works.
