PEIE?showcases Omani products at Dubai's Gulfood 2015 expo


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Representing the sultanate the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) is participating at the ongoing world's biggest annual food and hospitality show - Gulfood 2015 which is being held from February 8 to 12 at Dubai World Trade Centre in the United Arab Emirates.

Hosting more than 4800 international exhibitors across 127000sq m of exhibition space the event this year is the biggest of its kind. Speaking on the sultanate's participation in the event Hamood al Balushi director of Omani products department at PEIE noted that the sultanate's pavilion at the exhibition embraces a variety of Omani companies from the food industry. "There has been a great turnout by visitors and business owners who were impressed with the high quality and eye-catching Omani products" Balushi said.

The companies and factories which are taking part under the umbrella of PEIE comprise Areej Vegetable Oils and Derivatives Modern Dairy Factory Dhofar Cattle Feed Company Omani Vegetable Oil and Derivatives Company Oman Foodstuff Factory Dhofar Poultry Nizwa Foodstuff Company Salalah Macaroni Company and Al Mada Foodstuff Company.

PEIE's participation in Gulfood 2015 comes in line with the activities carried out by the national campaign of promoting Omani products in coincidence with the Industry Day locally and regionally with the aim of raising awareness on locally manufactured products outside the country finding new markets and attracting more consumers.

Balushi added "The space of our participation has been increased this year and we have added a dedicated corner to inform investors and business owners on the vital features of the Omani industry and the national economy.

"This corner also aspires at briefing visitors on the vision of PEIE which lies in enhancing Oman's position as a leading regional centre of manufacturing ICT innovation and entrepreneurship excellence through attracting industrial investments and providing continued support through regionally and globally competitive strategies high-quality infrastructure value-added services and easy governmental processes."
