Twitter revenue nearly double in Q4

(MENAFN) Twitter reported its revenue nearly doubled in the fourth-quarter period of last year, but user growth fell short of analyst expectations, Times of Oman reported.

Revenue hit USD479 million in the October-December period, up 97 percent from USD242.6 million on-year. Its quarterly loss shrank to USD125 million, compared to a USD511 million loss a year ago.

The number of active monthly users of the San Francisco-based one-to-many messaging service monthly grew to 288 million, just four million more than in the previous quarter.

Twitter said that it lost four million monthly users due to a glitch in the new iOS 8 mobile operating system rolled out for iPhones, iPads and iPod touch devices, chief executive said.
