(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Iyad Ameen Madani, Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, has condemned the coup which was staged by the Houthi militias in Yemen.
He slammed the illegitimate takeover, warning that the move could undermine national, regional and international efforts to protect Yemen's unity and territorial integrity.
In his statement, Dr. Madani warned against the repercussions of the Houthi coup on security, stability and peace in Yemen. He stressed the need to support the GCC stance which rejected the coup and the so-called 'Constitutional Declaration' as it flouts the international resolutions and the principles stipulated in the Gulf Initiative. Dr. Madani urged the international community to deny the Houthi coup.
