Kuwait- Cabinet welcomes visit by Prince of Wales


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The cabinet has welcomed an expected official visit by Prince of Wales Charles to the State of Kuwait on Monday, accompanied by a delegation of senior officials.

This came in a statement by Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah following a weekly cabinet meeting held at Seif Palace under chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

The cabinet wished Prince Charles and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay in Kuwait, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah said.

Earlier on Sunday, the Prince of Wales arrived in Jordan's capital Amman at the start of a six-day tour of the Middle East.

The ministers were then briefed on a letter sent to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah by Jordanian King Abdullah II, in which he hailed deep historical relations between Kuwait and Jordan and invited His Highness the Amir to visit Jordan.

During the regular cabinet meeting, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah kept the ministers posted on the outcomes of his recent tour of Senegal, Morocco, Spain and Germany, which mainly aimed to promote cooperative relations between Kuwait and these countries, and to sign cooperative deals and memos of understanding in various fields.

Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled also briefed them on the outcomes of the Munich Security Conference, which focused on key international security issues and relevant impacts on the world.

Afterwards, the cabinet approved a draft decree appointing Barrak Al-Sheshtan director-general of the Public Authority for Minor Affairs.

The ministers also discussed issues on the agenda of the National Assembly, together with reports on the current Arab and international developments.
