India's Jet Airways operating profit up in Q4


(MENAFN) Jet Airways Ltd said it posted an operating profit of USD486.2 thousand in the October-December period of 2014, marking the end of seven straight quarters of losses, Gulf News reported.

Passenger revenues for the quarter rose by 8.8 percent to USD744.45 million from USD684.36 million, and cargo revenue went up by 5.3 percent to USD361.54 million from USD58.48 million on-quarter.

The Indian airlines also reported a USD45.75 million loss for the fourth-quarter period of 2014. The airline's combined revenue for the third quarter of financial year 2015 increased by 9 percent to USD875.75 million.

"At the beginning of financial year 2015 we outlined a three-year turnaround plan to get Jet Airways back to profitability. Today our business performance provides hard evidence that we are turning the business around," CEO said.
