UN envoy announces Yemeni parties' resumption of dialogue Mon.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) UN envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar announced that political parties in Yemen, including the Houthis, have agreed to resume consultations tomorrow in yet another bid to end the conflict in the country.

Benomar, in a statement, welcomed the resumption of negotiations which he described as a positive step, because Yemen was at a critical cross-road.

He said the political parties should live up to their responsibilities in order to end the political deadlock thus continue the peaceful democratic transition the Yemenis began in 2011.

"I urge all parties to live up to their responsibilities and commit to dialogue as the only way to find a common peaceful solution," he said.
