(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) US Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter Daesh, John Allen, said that His Majesty King Abdullah II has an extraordinary leadership and that leadership spans the region.
"Its not just a leadership and vision for the kingdom and for the people of Jordan, it's a true leadership for the region, and frankly the Untied States of America and all friends of Jordan listen carefully to the King on critical points", Allen added in an interview with Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The US general offered his profound condolences to Jordan's King, government and people over the martyrdom of Jordanian Captain Muath Kasasbeh and said the Jordanian people have great capability to defend itself.
He pointed out that the counter offensive against Daesh will begin very shortly, noting that there will be a major offensive on the ground led Iraqi forces. He said the coalition have multiple advisory teams on the ground right who are advising the Iraqis and who are in action today.
He said that the strategy of the US-led coalition will remain unchanged, noting that is a clear strategy that is based on defeating Daesh.
In reply to a question, General Allen said that "We have a partner in Iraq but not in Syria in our war on terrorism." He said Daesh is not an Islamic State and there are not Islamic. The US general praised Jordan's important political and humanitarian role in the region, adding that the Kingdom is preventing foreign fighters from getting in Syria and Iraq.
