Kuwaiti racer Bin Eedan comes 4th of FIA Mideast Rally Championship


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwaiti racer Salah Bin Eedan secured fourth place in the FIA Middle East Rally Championship 2015 (Group N), concluded in Doha Saturday.

Qatar's Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah came first in general standing, while UAE's Khaled Al-Qassemi came second followed by the Qatari Khalifa Al-Attiyah in third.

FIA Vice President Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Attiyah said that Qatar's version of the Rally came out "ideal" and concluded accidents-free.

Nasser Al-Attiyah, also President of the Qatari Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), told reporters after the award ceremony that the tournament's technical level was distinguished, predicting that the upcoming rounds would see more enthusiasm and competitiveness, especially after the official addition of Iran and Oman rounds, taking the overall rounds to eight.

He revealed that there are endeavors to include Egypt as a ninth round.

The QMMF International Rally and the first round is one of the 2015 FIA Middle East Rally Championship and are known to be the most difficult for both the racers and race cars as it has a 510-kilometer racetrack. The second round is to be held in Kuwait on March 12-14.

The other rounds will take place in Lebanon, Jordan, Oman and Iran.
